UPDATE 3:00 PM
Tonight's Flyers forward lines
JVR - Richards - Wellwood
Hartnell - Carter - Leino
Powe - Giroux - Zherdev
Shelley - Betts - Carcillo
UPDATE 11:15 AM
Danny Briere has been suspended for three games. Personally, I feel it is one game too long, but so be it. As much as I like and respect Briere, he did something dumb. It should also be noted that the third and final game of the suspension is a Flyers-Islanders game.
* The suspension will give Nikolay Zherdev an opportunity to either get in his coach's good graces with his play on the ice or to secure his spot on the scratch sheet when Danny returns.
Eric Wellwood has been recalled from the Phantoms. Andreas Nodl (shoulder) did not skate this morning. Wellwood will start tonight on a line with Mike Richards and James van Riemsdyk.
Sergei Bobrovsky will once again get the start in goal.
Andrej Meszaros looks doubtful for tonight. Oskars Bartulis is likely to start in his place.
Potential Flyers starting lineup

ABBREVIATED PREVIEW 10 AM
The Flyers (6-4-1) will take to the ice for the third time in four nights when they meet the Carolina Hurricanes (5-5-0) at the Wells Fargo Center tonight. Last season, the Flyers were fortunate to catch Carolina during the team's horrific first three months of the regular season. Philly swept the four-game season series by a combined 16-6 score. The Canes are usually a much tougher opponent than that, and the Flyers will have to keep their shifts short and play from ahead given the potential for tired legs by the third period.
The Flyers' offense and powerplay have finally begun to click over the last 10 days, but they figure to be without leading scorer Danny Briere tonight. Briere is almost certain to be suspended for cross checking the Islanders' Frans Nielsen in the face late in Saturday's 6-1 win at the Wells Fargo Center. Andrej Meszaros (upper body injury) will be reevaluated today, as will Andreas Nodl (shoulder). If Briere is suspended, Nikolay Zherdev will be back in the lineup.
Carolina has been shut out twice in the last week (both by 3-0) scores, losing to the Capitals last Wednesday and the Penguins. In between, they picked up a 4-3 win over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Friday. The Canes are 5-3 away from home ice so far this season, but 0-2 at home. Eric Staal and Jeff Skinner are tied for the team scoring lead with 3 goals and 7 points apiece.
Probable Carolina starting lineup (Flyers to be posted later)
LaRose - Staal - Jokinen
Samsonov - Sutter - Kostopoulos
Cole - Skinner - Ruutu
Tlusty - O'Sullivan - Dwyer/Matsumoto
Pitkanen - McBain
Corvo - Gleason
Babchuk - Harrison
Peters/Ward
