MINI-PREVIEW 10 AM EST

The Black Friday matinee in Philly in annual tradition. This year, the Flyers (15-6-2) will take on the Calgary Flames (8-11-2). This is the only meeting of the season between the teams. The maddeningly inconsistent Flames have been finding ways to lose again of late but remain capable on any given day of blowing out an unprepared opponent.

Jarome Iginla has caught fire of late after a slow start, with six goals in his last four games. But he and Rene Bourque have been the only ones producing of late. The Flyers, meanwhile, have been getting balanced scoring. Six different players and all four forward lines tallied goals in Wednesday night's 6-1 blowout of Minnesota. It is telling the Flyers' top 3 scorers this season play on three different lines: Mike Richards (24 points), Claude Giroux (23 points) and Ville Leino (19 points).

The Flyers remain mired in a powerplay drought that has brought them down to a 17.5% efficiency rate for the season. However, the club has been dominating at 5-on-5 and has continued to produce shorthanded goals on a regular basis. The PK as a whole is back on track. Special teams have been a problem for the Flames, both on the powerplay (15.2%) and penalty kill (81.6%).
