Timonen Says He'll Play; Leighton in Goal |

LOS ANGELES - Kimmo Timonen's hip is still bothering him but the Flyers defenseman said he plans to play tonight against the LA Kings.
The bigger more interesting news is that coach Peter Laviolette has decided to put Michael Leighton in net.
The one question Lavy has been dancing around whenever we ask him is how he handles Sergei Bobrovsky's psyche right now.
The rookie has got to be wondering whether the coach has lost faith in him. The Flyers did not lose 2 in a row b/c of poor goaltending. They lost 2 b/c of poor overall team play that hung their goalies out to dry.
Maybe Lavy thinks this will spark the club. Maybe he thinks it will light a fire under BOB. Brian Boucher has been pretty consistent lately, so it doesn't affect him one way or the other.
At some point this season, the Flyers need to settle on who their No. 1 and 2 were. I know it flip-flopped in the playoffs under Lavy when he won the Cup in Carolina w/Cam Ward and Martin Gerber.
Three goalies is one too many in the long term.
What's the fan verdict?
