As I Tweeted earlier and as I am reporting on CSNPhilly.com, the Flyers have waived d-man Matt Walker.

The intent, GM Paul Holmgren told me, is to get him to the Phantoms and some playing time.

However, I feel the second intent is to clear $1.7 million more in cap space in preparation for the trade deadline next month.
