Everyone out there in Flyerdom who thinks the Boston Bruins are going to catch the Flyers in the No. 1 overall Eastern Conference standings please raise their hand.
Yep, looks like more than half those hands are up.
A few weeks ago, the Flyers were 12 points ahead of the Bruins in the East. Going into the weekend, that's been reduced to 3 points.
I'm uncomfortable with that points gap right now.
I agree with Mike Milbury that the Flyers goaltending has some cracks in Sergei Bobrovsky. BOB has not looked very sharp. He's not the reason the Flyers lost to Toronto on Thursday, but unlike earlier this season, he's not making a difference.
BOB has some uncanny saves in the game but once again, gave up a couple of bad goals. He doesn't look playoff ready to me.
The offense has shrunk to nothing. Thirteen games since the All-Star break and the Flyers are in a funk -- their first legit funk of the season, really: 7-5-1 doesn't cut it.
Over those 13 games, scoring is way down. They have not scored more than 3 goals in any game (ecluding empty netters) in regulation play.
The power play is killing them. In 4 one-goal losses since the break, their PP was a combined 2-for-18.
Peter Laviolette swears he has not lost confidence in his players to score at even strength or on the PP. but the lack of swagger and confidence right now is pretty apparent.
I don't like what I'm seeing on the ice or what I am seeing in the dressing room.
