MINI-PREVIEW 5:15 AM EST
The Flyers (42-19-6) will look for their third straight win tonight when they take on Craig Ramsay's Atlanta Thrashers (28-28-12) tonight at the Wells Fargo Center. This is the second of four meetings between the teams this season. The Flyers won in Atlanta, 5-2, back on Jan. 14. Historically, the Flyers have dominated Atlanta but the Thrashers swept the season series last year.
Atlanta played strong hockey through New Years this season but has scuffled since then. They are currently on the outside of the playoff picture looking in, and are just 3-5-2 in their last 10 games. They are coming off an OT loss against New Jersey, courtesy of former Thrasher star Ilya Kovalchuk.
For the Flyers, the primary challenge will be to keep their intensity level as high as it was in Toronto on Thursday night. They still need to do a better job at protecting the puck and cashing in on two-minute power plays (they had single goals in five-minute power plays in each of the two previous games).
No official word as of yet on whether Chris Pronger (upper body injury) will be able to return to the lineup tonight.
