Game 7 - Surprise Scratches

Big news going into Game 7 is ...

Patrick Kaleta is out with what is rumored to be a broken hand and that Jordan Leopold is a game-time decision with a re-aggravation of a previous injury.

Mike Grier is a healthy scratch.

Derek Roy, as we all knew, is in replacing Tim Connolly.

For the Flyers, as I tweeted this morning, Johan Backlund is the No. 3. The BBB Trio is now Brian Boucher, Sergei Bobrovsky and Backlund. Michael Leighton was sent to neverland and is not here.

I admire the spunk in the Sabres. They've given the Flyers fits. Were it not for Ryan Miller, this would have been a 5-game series.

I still believe the one Game 7 factor here is every Flyer but two in the lineup tonight has been through a Game 7 experience vs. only 7 Sabres

But I also understood Lindy Rudd when I asked him yesterday about this and he said that "youthful" enthusiasm makes up for a lot. And we've seen that in this series.

Since I took the Flyers to win this series in 6 games, I am obligated to take them now in 7 but I feel a lot has to do with which Boosh shows up. The confident one or the one who gave up some awful goals in Game 5.

And a hearty congrats to Ian Laperriere for making the three finalists for the Masterton Trophy. He was nearly a unanimous choice by the Philly chapter of the PHWA. We didn't think he could make the final list because he had not played this season.

And how ironic he joins two ex-Flyers in Ray Emery and Daymond Langkow.

Here's a bunch of stories on CSNPhilly.com about tonight's game:
