I’m spending a few days on vacation with my family, however, I have to quickly comment on today’s events, or lack of them as the case may be. I’ll be back to daily posts this weekend.

What does Harold Camping and the hockey writers at the Globe and Mail have in common? They both like to change the date when their predictions don't come true. Just like the guy who has twice wrongly predicted the date of the rapture, the gang that work for the “supposed” future co-owner of the Winnipeg NHL franchise has been exposed again.

The deal is done. That was the message according to that newspaper last Thursday, the Atlanta Thrashers were sold and were moving to Winnipeg. The deal was to be announced on Tuesday. Amazing how that message was published prior to an event for Thrasher fans to show support for their team.

As I write this late Tuesday evening, no such announcement was made. And now, the paper posted a few hours ago on the Globe and Mail website that “banking and legal arrangements delayed the announcement.”

Now, I’m no brain surgeon, but isn’t a deal to buy a professional sports team a whole series of “banking and legal arrangements?” So how is the deal done? Don’t expect answers from the Globe and Mail. I wondered if there was some manipulation going on here… and things like this don’t help. They may end up with the team and moving it, but the eagerness of this paper to manipulate the good fans of Winnipeg is just wrong.

So the question now becomes, what happens first… the new and improved rapture date or the announcement?
