Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Flyers' general manager Paul Holmgren as he mends from a bike accident yesterday in Avalon, NJ, from which he suffered broken ribs and a broken shoulder and various cuts requiring stitches. Holmgren in stable condition at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
My immediate fear when I found out that Homer was taken to Cooper rather than Shore Memorial in Avalon or Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May was that he may have suffered serious trauma, possibly to his head -- Cooper is best known for its trauma center, and that would be the most logical reason why a patient involved in an accident in Avalon would be taken instead to Camden.
Thankfully, it appears that
Holmgren was wearing a bicycle helmet that Holmgren was at the time of the accident and did not sustain any serious head injuries.

Teemu "Euroflyers" Hytonen tweeted out a photo link earlier today to a
shot of Jaromir Jagr filming a commercial in his native Czech Republic.
The photo depicts Jagr, decked out in the uniform of HC Kladno (the Czech Extraliga team that Jagr now owns after rescuing it from bankruptcy), and a child in a Jagr Flyers' jersey. What is interesting about the Flyers uniform is that it has an alternate captain's A on it.
Does it mean anything? Who knows.
I remember a few years ago when Peter Forsberg was in the midst of one of his comeback bids and people in Sweden read into the fact that, during a pregame ceremony with his IceBreakers team, he presented an autographed Flyers jersey (although the Predators were his most recent team at the time). Some folks took that as a sign he was coming back to Philadelphia.
Jagr himself recently said that he has no idea who the team's captain will be, who his linemates will be, etc. So I wouldn't read too much into the A on the sweater. Then again...
