Make that 31 players left in camp now. The Flyers have released tryout veterans Michael Nylander and Adam Mair.

There were no surprises among the Flyers' list of waived players and non-waivers AHL demotions yesterday. Now the roster decisions start to get a little tougher.

In the upcoming days, the club will have to start making decisions about whether to waive or keep higher-salaried veterans (Jody Shelley, Matt Walker) and whether to keep or waive younger waiver-eligible players (Tom Sestito, Oskars Bartulis) over both the veterans and waiver exempt young players who may be outplaying them in the preseason.

Technically speaking, there are now 38 players on the Flyers' "official" camp roster. But that list will go down to 33 when Johan Backlund, Jason Bacashihua, Jon Kalinski, Dan Jancevski and Stefan Legein clear waivers and are officially assigned to the Phantoms along with the other players who were cut yesterday.
