Flyers Preseason Gameday: 9/26/11 vs. Rangers |

After a day off on Saturday and a full practice yesterday, the Flyers return to action tonight for their fifth game of the preseason. They will take on the New York Rangers at the Wells Fargo Center (game time is 7 p.m.). If you can't make it to the arena, the game will air on Versus.
Early this afternoon, there will be a press conference at Citizens Bank Park. At that time, the NHL will officially announce the details of the Jan. 2 Winter Classic game between the Flyers and Rangers at Citizens Bank Park.
I will update the blog later today with lineups and additional information. Ilya Bryzgalov will make his second preseason start in goal, and the lineup is expected to be close to the opening night lineup (minus Chris Pronger, Scott Hartnell and perhaps one or two other veteran players).

Tests performed on Scott Hartnell on Saturday revealed no abnormalities after the player experienced an alarmingly elevated heart rate during Friday's game in Detroit. He will see a cardiologist tomorrow. Hopefully, more will be known in the days and weeks to come.
For the time being, Hartnell will be sidelined.
