PREVIEW 8:30 AM
Looking to gain a home-and-home sweep, the Flyers (24-14-1) must travel today to the home turf of the Ottawa Senators (21-15-6) one day after taking a 3-2 overtime victory at the Wells Fargo Center yesterday afternoon. The game starts at 5 PM EST and will be broadcast locally on CSN Philly.
This is the third of four games between the teams during the regular season and the final one in Ottawa. Danny Briere's hat trick and a 35-save performance from Ilya Bryzgalov keyed yesterday's victory.
Apart from his three goals -- the last of which came on his own rebound followup with 8 seconds left in overtime -- Briere also dropped the gloves with Kyle Turris in the second second period. Meanwhile, Kimmo Timonen gutted out a good game while playing through a left hand injury that nearly kept him out of the lineup.
There is a chance that Jaromir Jagr (groin pull) could return to the lineup today. He has been skating with the club for the last few days. If not, Matt Read will continue playing on the Claude Giroux line and the Flyers will go with the same lineup they've featured in each of the last two games.
As always, Peter Laviolette has not publicly named a starting goalie ahead of today's game. Also keep in mind this is the club's third game in four days -- and the team conducted a normal practice on Friday -- so energy management will be paramount.
