Giroux, Others React to Suspension |

If the Flyers can't pull it together and win Game 5 tonight without Claude Giroux, then something is wrong with their character.
Playoffs are about overcoming adversity. Every team goes through this at some point.
"He’s been out best player the whole year, but he’s not there," Kimmo Timonen said. "Same thing goes when Prongs got hurt. He’s not here.
"It’s not about Giroux tonight, it’s about us. We have to go out there and play as a team. Hopefully we get a win and get him back, but everybody has to realize here it’s not about him today. It’s about us."
Perfectly stated by a guy who "gets it."
Here's what Giroux had to say to CSN's Sarah Baicker this morning:
Hard to tell what’s suspendable?
"Yeah. I mean, it’s hard to say what’s a suspension or not," Giroux replied. "Obviously I hit his head with my shoulder but I still think I didn’t jump, my elbow was down.
"That wasn’t my intention to hit his head. Obviously it’s disappointing to see that I can’t go on the ice and help the guys win this game tonight. But all I got to do is focus for Game 6 now.
Killing you not to be with the club tonight?
"Yeah. It’s obviously not easy. You want to be there to help the team win. But I’ve got a lot of confidence in the guys that are gonna go out there and get the win. After that, we’re going to have to go to Jersey and come back for Game 7 here."
How much did arguing with the ref weigh?
"I think that’s one of the reasons I had to get a suspension. I was kind of frustrated that the ref didn’t call Brodeur playing in that zone. I was a little disappointed that he missed that call.
"We could have gone on a power play there and tied the game up. What is done is done. Now I’ve just got to worry about Game 6. I know the guys are going to go out there tonight and give everything they’ve got. I’m confident that they’re going to get a win."
Wayne Simmonds was asked about Pittsburgh winning Game 4 against the Flyers without three of their of starters, including James Neal.
"G's been unbelievable for us all year," Simmonds said. "We owe it to him to get him at least one more game. It's do or die time right now.
"It's either we play the right way or we don't and we go home. I think we know what we're in for this game."
