The Vote Is Coming; So Are Phantoms |

As I reported last night on CSNPhilly.com, the Lockout Games inched along with the subtle news that NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman will meet with the Board of Governors on Sept. 13.
At that time, he will update the guvs on the CBA and ask for a vote of confidence - real vote, too - on backing him in the lockout if no agreement by Sept. 15.
There are so many issues up in the air right now, I feel it would b e impossible to get an agreement in place by then.
Sure, they could certainly get the core economics out of the way and that would l ikely lead to the NHL opening camps on time but ...
We all know that is not going to happen. There have been no talks since then and we suspect the next CBA talks might not come till Friday of this week or Monday of next week.
Did we mention the players are holding their meetings in NYC next week, 2 days before Bettman's?
The NHLPA has been silent, just as the league has, on things since last Friday.
Next week is Fashion Week in NYC and the United Nations is in session so the City will be packed which is why hotel rates are astronomical.

Some hockey news at Skate Zone. Due to arena sked conflicts, the Phantoms will have their training camp at Voorhees Sept. 28 thru Oct. 6.
That may be the only hockey fans will see in the fall over there.
Here's some updates on the Phantoms, Flyers and CBA from CSNPhilly.com:
