There were 13 Flyers-related games played in various leagues on Friday. Here's the full rundown:

AHL: PHANTOMS FALL TO 1-2-0

The Adirondack Phantoms dropped a tough 2-1 decision to the St. John's IceCaps in the first of back-to-back games in Newfoundland. The lone Phantoms goal was scored in the second period Andrew Johnston, assisted by Eric Wellwood and Matt Ford. The tally was Johnston's first in the AHL.

Veteran goaltender Scott Munroe single-handedly kept the Phantoms in the game in the first period. Head coach was forced to use his timeout early in the game, as Adirondack was frequently pinned deep in its own end of the ice. The Phantoms took over the game in the second and third period but had trouble solving goaltender Eddie Pasquale.

Munroe finished with 24 saves on 26 shots (12 of which came in the opening period).
He had no chance on either IceCaps goal. The first was a deflection by Max Macenauer. The game-winner was a defensive breakdown in which no one picked up defenseman Travis Ramsey on a backdoor play.

The Phantoms have scored just one one in their last six periods and are 2-for-20 on the power play in the first three games, including 0-for-5 in this game. Adirondack had its fair share of scoring chances in the game, but hit the post several times and were denied several other times on tough saves by Pasquale.

Brayden Schenn had seven shots on goal for Adirondack, but was unable to get on the scoreboard and finished minus-two. Sean Couturier had one good power play scoring chance but the puck took a late hop on him. He finished without a shot on goal in the game.

However, Couturier was strong on the penalty kill and did a good job of checking the dangerous Alexander Burmistrov. Adirondack killed off all five of their own penalties in the game. Burmistrov was also on the receiving end of a crushing hit by Oliver Lauridsen.

Offensively, the best Phantoms forwards in the game were Wellwood, Schenn and Ben Holmstrom. Those three players generated solid pressure as Murray separated Schenn and Couturier onto different lines. On the blueline, both Brandon Manning and Danny Syvret had strong games for Adirondack.

Marc-Andre Bourdon did not make the road trip with the Phantoms due to an unspecified injury. Defenseman Jeff Dimmen substituted for Bourdon in the starting lineup. Forward Matt Mangene also made an appearance in the lineup tonight.

ECHL: TITANS RUN RECORD TO 4-0-0

The ECHL's Trenton Titans ran their season record to 4-0-0 with a 4-3 road win over the Evansville IceMen. In a seesaw game that saw the Phantoms lead 3-1 before Evansville came back to tie the game, Luke Pither netted the game winner in the third period. Rookie Marcel Noebels, who has points in every game to date, assisted on the goal.

The other Trenton goals were scored by players with no Flyers/Phantoms contractual affiliation. Defenseman Mitch Versteeg got the first goal on a shot that deflected in off an Evansville player. Jacob Drewiske broke a 1-1 deadlock, and Stephen Schultz extended the lead to 3-1 with his third goal of the season.

Flyers goaltending prospect Niko Hovinen is officially day-to-day with what is being called a deep bruise near his left clavicle. He did not accompany the team on its two-game, two-day road trip. New Jersey Devils prospect Scott Wedgewood got the start tonight, and will also start tomorrow night when the Titans are in Cincinnati.

EUROPE: BIG GAMES FOR BRIERE, GIROUX, READ, SIMMONDS and SESTITO

KHL: Ilya Bryzgalov was scratched in favor of Rastislav Stana, who recorded his third shutout of the young season for CSKA in a 3-0 victory over Lev Prague. Jakub Voracek remains out of Lev lineup.

KHL: Ruslan Fedotenko failed to record a point in a 3-1 loss to HC Yugra. However, he went 12-for-17 on faceoffs (70.1 percent).

Allsvenskan: Matt Read had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 win for Södertälje SK against Troja/Ljungby. His linemate, Rangers forward Carl Hagelin, also notched one goal and one assist in the game. Game highlight clips are available here.

DEL: Claude Giroux had a goal and an assist in a 5-1 home win for Eisbären Berlin against the Augsburg Panthers. Linemate Danny Briere had three assists. Briere has 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) in three games to date, while Giroux has seven points (2 goals, 7 assists).

Bundesliga: Wayne Simmonds scored two goals for Eispiraten Crimmitschau in a 5-4 loss to Dresden. The Ice Pirates led at one point in the third period before their opponent scored three straight goals to open up a 5-3 advantage. Simmonds' second goal of the game cut the deficit back to one goal but his team couldn't find an equalizer.

EIHL: Tom Sestito had two assists and stayed out of the penalty box in a 4-3 shootout win for Sheffield.
