Yay for the All Star break. Good luck to all the participants and coaches!! It is truely an honor so be safe (as in please no one get hurt) and have a great time!!
I know I will be watching as many of the events as I can. I can not wait to see what all goes down. To me the All Star events are great. It's a way for everyone to watch great players (even though yes,some were left out dang voting) let loose,play with other great players they aren't always paired with, and have a good time because in the end I really think its something fun.
For me I can't wait to watch Ovechkin (because I love watching him) do the thing he does best and I also like the Young Stars game. All the young guys playing together and battling it out, east vs. west. Good times.
The All Star days (events,games,whatever you call it)are also good for those players not picked. It gives fathers time to catch up with their kids (maybe go to a soccer game they have been promising to attend) and the young guys a chance to catch their breath. I remember last year Jim Slater was really struggling before the break due to the schedule and such and during the break he had a chance to go home,have a good time,and relax. He came back to Atlanta relaxed and ready to play. You could definately see the difference in him too.
My point with that little bit is I always enjoy watching the couple of games after the break because there always seems to be a surge of energy (or lack thereof) within teams. It feels like the beginning of the season all over again!!
So what do you think? You know I like to open up things for discussion. What are you excited to watch? Do you like the break? Do you loathe it? Do you even care? Haha. Lets try to stay on topic this discussion. All Star stuff only, we shall talk about who should be traded and such next time.
