PREVIEW 8:30 AM EDT

In the second game of a five-game homestand that got off to a bad start, the Philadelphia Flyers (13-17-2) take on the New York Islanders (15-15-3). Tonight's game starts at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast locally on CSN Philadelphia.

This is the second of four meetings between the teams this season, and the first of two at the Wells Fargo Center. On President's Day, the Flyers registered their most lopsided victory of the season, pummeling the Islanders by a 7-0 count.

In a season filled with disappointment and underachievement, the Flyers are coming off a 5-2 loss to the New York Rangers on Sunday. With just 16 games remaining in the lockout shortened campaign, Philadelphia has become a virtual non-factor in the playoff chase. The Flyers are 3-6-1 in their last 10 games.

The Islanders, who sport a 9-4-1 record on the road this season, are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference. They are two points behind the Rangers but the Blueshirts hold a game in hand.

On the injury front, Nicklas Grossmann (upper torso) remains day-to-day after missing the last two games. He is questionable for tonight. If Grossmann cannot play, Erik Gustafsson will be in the starting lineup tonight. In addition, Andrej Meszaros reinjured his shoulder and is out indefinitely. Bruno Gervais and Kurtis Foster will remain in the Flyers' lineup.

For the Islanders, Jesse Joensuu (sports hernia) and David Ullstrom (groin) are unavailable. The club is otherwise healthy.
