Some Interesting Boston Ties to Past |

Well, I took a pounding in my picks in the first round for the Western Conference, going 1-3 after being perfect in the East.
I didn't think San Jose represented much of a threat; didn't think Detroit would upset Anaheim; and I always try to find an upset and was encouraged with the Blues start against LA in that series but should have known better, I guess.
I still think we see either Pittsburgh/Boston emerge from the East and Chicago from the West.
Watching the Bruins comeback against Toronto in Game 7 ... well, if you a Flyers fan recalling that Bruins-Flyers series of 2010, you'd have to say that what happened to the Leafs was eerily reminiscent of what occurred to Boston three springs ago.
Gonna be a very looong summer for Leafs fans to handle how their club choked in a Game 7 situation with a 4-1 "its over" lead.
Boston became the first team in NHL history to win a Game 7 after trailing by three goals in the third period.
According to Elias Sports Bureau, only one other club has overcome a two-goal, third-period deficit to win a Game 7: the Montreal Canadiens in the 1979 semi's against ... Boston.
Here's another oddity from Elias: Patrice Bergeron scored the game-tying and game-winning goals for Boston. Only two other NHLers have done that. Boston’s Brad Park did it against Buffalo in the 1983 Adams Division Final and Buffalo’s Derek Plante did it against Ottawa in the 1997 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
