When I was a student at Penn State, there was a joke going 'round about Pope Paul VI.
It's been too long for me to remember the specifics, but I do remember this: The punch line was, "So who was that guy with so-and-so?"
The joke was some guy being more famous than the Pope and everyone knew him on sight. Instantly.
Which brings me to Ed Snider, the most powerful figure in Comcast. Brian Roberts may own Comcast, but Ed Snider is the most visible figure out there.
So when I heard that Snider and his wife, Lin, were in Rome last week on business regarding the Simon Wiesenthal Foundation, and that Snider had an audience with Pope Francis, it reminded me to that punchline: "Who was the guy with Ed Snider?"
Snider's Flyers have won 2 in a row. Think the Pope said a novena?
