Mason Injured at Practice |

What was to have been a routine practice before the team traveled to Toronto for the first game of an eight-game road trip turned ugly for the Philadelphia Flyers. Starting goaltender Steve Mason, whose play has been one of the few bright spots on the team, went down with an injury.
According to the reporters at practice in Voorhees -- with the Flyers' homestand concluded, I am in transit today to Dallas until New Years -- Mason went down without contact and had to be helped off the ice in considerable pain after laying on his back on the ice. Early speculation is that the goalie suffered potential back spasms but that is not known for certain.
If the Flyers need to recall a goaltender from Lehigh Valley, veteran Rob Zepp is the more likely recall to back up Ray Emery rather than rookie Anthony Stolarz.
Information will be updated when it becomes available.
