A couple weeks ago, after Anze Kopitar rang another post, I posed this question:
And here's the answer, culled from NHL.com's Play-by-Play sheets. This is for all situations:

Kopitar's five is actually lower than expected, but it does confirm the notion that at two goals in 22 games, he's been snake-bitten. It also wouldn't surprise me if NHL.com missed a post or crossbar along the way.
In fact, the Captain has already hit more posts/crossbars just a third into this year than he did all of last season:

Dustin Brown was the unluckiest one of them all. And poor Trevor Lewis! -- so close to breaking that double-digit goals barrier once again -- he notched eight last campaign and nine in 2014-15.
As a team, Los Angeles hit 40 posts/crossbars last year, while their opposition recorded 37. This season, they own an 18-10 "advantage."
Anyway, Kopitar is on pace for 15+ posts this season, which seems unlikely to actually happen. When the clanging stops, does the scoring start?

Much has been made about LA's upcoming nine-game road trip -- there's some thought that it's "make or break" -- but before tonight in Buffalo, let's credit the team for passing their most recent, if less strenuous test. About a month ago, the injury-riddled 7-9-1 Kings, losers of four straight away, found themselves in a get-right spot:
They've lost three of the last five, but you can't complain about 7-2-1 in the last 10.
