Monday morning the NHL teams must submit their rosters and today at Noon is the last chance teams have to waive players. The Islanders have already made some of their cuts sending certain players to Bridgeport and some to their ECHL team.

The following were assigned to the Stockton Thunder:

Mathieu Coderre-Gagnon- D, Nathan Deck- D, Sean Escobedo- D, Ryan Hayes- F, Nick Larson- F, Parker Milner- G, Shawn Mortin-Boutin- D, Landon Olslanski- D, Ben Rosen- F.

Seven players have been assigned to Bridgeport training camp:
Jason Clark- F (Loaned to Bridgeport)
Marc Cantin- D (Loaned to Bridgeport)
Andrey Pedan- D (Loaned to Bridgeport)
Greg Miller- F (Released from NHL amateur tryout contract)
Mike Dalhuisen- D (Released from NHL amateur tryout contract)
Mike Keenan- D (Released from NHL amateur tryout contract)
Dallas Jackson- D (Released from NHL amateur tryout contract)

All that stuff in parenthesis is NHL CBA legal language.

Speaking of which, two Isles prospects signed their ECL’s yesterday, Alan Quine (@Quiner26 and Ryan Pulock (@rpulock2) both took to Twitter yesterday to say how happy they were to sign their first professional contracts. Certainly not quite as happy as their agents.

So the Islanders play another split squad game today in Ottawa. This seems to be a very unusual move so late in training camp but that’s what is on the docket for today.

Islanders vs. Senators A at 6:00 p.m. at the Barrie Molson Centre, Barrie, ON. According to the Isles website, this is where John Tavares and Matt Moulson will play along with possibly John Persson and Johan Sundstrom. Will Kyle Okposo be at game A?

Per Art Staple's Twitter feed: Tavares, Diamond, Gallant, Persson, Finley, Nielsen, Johnson, de Haan, Mayfield, Grabner, Sundstrom, Moulson, Okposo, Hickey, Bailey, Visnovsky, Quine, Hamonic. Poulin and Nilsson in goal.

And per SunGarrioch Robin Lehner will likely start in Barrie and Craig Anderson will be in net in Ottawa.

At 7:30 pm Isles vs. Senators B will be at Canadian Tire Centre, Ottawa, ON. Brock Nelson, Peter Regin, and Pierre-Marc Bouchard will play there. Will Josh Bailey be on a line at game B? Or has he truly found a place for himself on the first line with JT and Mouls?

Don’t expect to be able to watch this game unless you are in Ottawa or Barrie. I’m not even sure if there will be a radio feed. It may be Twitter all the way and it may have to come from multiple sources. Or we can just wait until it’s all over and see what the Islanders tell us while we all watch football and eat too much.
