An NHL source just filled me in on some rumblings he has heard, and it appears as if the Canucks and Canadiens are very interested in pursuing UFA-to-be Brad Richards.

"We could see a pre-emptive deadline move this year at the deadline, similar to how he Devils move for Kovalchuk, except with the intentions of signing Brad to an extension." A source continued, "It's early for this kind of talk, but not surprising given the lack of depth at center come July 1."

Also hearing the Oilers have inquired about Dubinsky and are trying to put a package together to add the center.

Another source: Don't be shocked if the LA Kings and Isles get together on a semi-major deal in the next week."

More to come.
