Heatley>>

It's looking more and more certain that he will be moved as Bryan Murray has really begun pushing harder to make something happen. I continue to get the sense that the Sens want nothing to do with the camp distraction that would be caused, despite them putting forth the proper face.

The two main teams, Rangers and Sharks, remain at the forefront. The Sharks will have to wait and see how this week plays out as they are in the midst of trying to convince a certain player to play in NJ. If they can do this, I am told that a deal with the Sens is in place and the wheels could be in motion pretty quickly.

If you are looking for a darkhorse for Heatley I would continue to look towards Edmonton and even Vancouver. Edmonton has been considering bringing in Kessel and/or Comrie (the latter of which would be quite surprising given the history) and I am told that Heatley is high on both Kessel and Comrie. I am continually told that Heatley would look harder at Edmonton if he had a line that he could play with that intrigued him.

My personal opinion: Really? I quite like the current talent in Edmonton and believe that they have guys that could easily be great linemates. I'd run were I Edmonton.

The Canucks are an interesting option given that they have seriously beefed up on players as of late and have the tools to make a trade happen for Heatley.

Zherdev>>

Well, he has officially said that he would like to be a Thrasher because they have several quality Russian players. It would be interesting to see if playing with Kovalchuk could inspire him. The two players are among some other Russians who are currently training and working out together in Russia. I continue to hear that the Capitals are strong in the running for Zherdev as well, and as of this morning you can add the Islanders to that list.

Sykora>>

The Wild, Predators, Sabres, Flyers, Senators and Panthers are the teams I am hearing the most. It is rather hard to imagine that Sykora is still available. I am even starting to hear talk of a return to Pittsburgh should Petr want to take significantly less. Sykora will find a home soon. possibly as soon as the next 48 hours.

Afinogenov>>

He too could be a Thrasher, but I would start to look at the Capitals for Max...Seriously hard at the Caps. As the money has been a bit slight I am told that his good friend in Washington who wears #8 is likely to make a push and ask a favor. Max has interest from several Eastern teams including Montreal, NJ, NYR, and Philly...But I see him in Washington if the money is at all close.

Kessel>>

The Toronto Maple Leaf rumor continues to intensify. I am told that a deal could be discussed this weekend that could finally get this done. There is trade talk with Edmonton and LA as well.

Sundin to LA (e4)>>

Again, understand the E-system. e4 doesn't always mean a rumor is more likely to happen, it just means it is coming from 2 or more people close to the situation. So what I would say about this is there is a VERY good chance that Sundin and LA are trying to get a deal done. Will it happen? No one knows yet. You can also add Philly and Dallas to the Mats race.

more to come.
