That is the word in the street this morning after some pretty intense late night meetings I am told. We have been hearing for some time now that Matt Duchesne may be moving to a new team...but the Flyers don't have NHL ready d-men at this point...which along with prospects and some kind of cap hit, would have to be going the other way in such a deal. The flyers are loaded with Defensive prospects however.
I have heard that Lecavalier could be of interest to Patrick Roy if the Flyers were to retain a good amount of money.
The Flyers have said they will be patient and wait for the young players to develop...the question is are we talking "on the playoff bubble" patience or "in the running for the top pick" patient..
Evidence is oddly pointing to the latter right now...which is odd because there are things happening at every facet of the organization right now which feel very foreign and very disjointed based on almost 50 years of Flyers culture. This goes way beyond wins and losses. This cuts to the core in Philly and the normal support structure is non existent right now.
Things can change quickly should Hextall fee the need to make a move...which all indications are he is trying to do....harder still since the loss to the Avs on Monday.
