Quick hits throughout the day as I finalize the Rumor Chart Today. Should be ready to go this evening...

TRADE: The Predators have acquired Dubnyk from Edmonton for Hendricks.

Note... The oilers like to make moves in pairs.

On the Kings and Habs...

Hearing more and more that the two teams continue to discuss a possible trade. The names at this point are very fluid, but both teams are looking to add forwards and "shake up" chemistry.

On the Flyers blue-line...

A good source tells me the Flyers are looking hard to add a physical force to their blue line. someone who can help clear the porch for Mason. Currently that role is supposed to be played by Luke Schenn and Nicklas Grossmann, but the team is looking more for a "Luke Richardson" type. "A player other team's forwards will fear." I hear there has been some internal debate about Dustin Byfuglien, but I believe the Buff supporters are outweighing the naysayers.

On the Leafs....

According to sources, there has been some talk about the Leafs looking at Ryan Malone out of Tampa. A trade in the division with Tampa (and yes that still feels weird to say) would on the surface look unlikely, but there are whispers Malone wants out of Tampa and Tampa does like some of the defenders the Leafs are holding onto. Another name that keeps coming up with Tampa is Tuomo Ruutu. I like that fit a lot.

On the Ducks...

My "atta guy" award today goes to Ducks GM Bob Murray as quoted by Pierre Lebrun, “There’s not a chance in hell that I’m moving Jonas Hiller. I’m tired of hearing about the rumors. I can tell you Jonas is not going anywhere.”

As surprising as it might sound, coming from a Rumor reporter, I FULLY respect a guy who comes out and puts a rumor to bed in such a manor. There are many times a GM will deny something or scoff at something and it still ends up happening, but saying no chance in hell is the way to do it. Especially because it shows the team the faith you have in their teammate.

Winnipeg could learn a little from this...
