Rumors: Jagr headed back to NHL (e3) Kaberle, Kovalchuk and Preds? |

Quick hit this morning.
A source in Russia close to the situation has informed me this morning that Jaromir Jagr is highly likely to return to the NHL "this season possibly during the Olympics a deal could be signed."
The source went on to add that "there is currently interest from at least 5 teams. Dallas, Chicago, Ottawa, Edmonton, and Vancouver."
Also, while we are still far off there are already three teams in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and the Washington Capitals that are believed to have serious interest in Tomas Kaberle. It remains to be seen if Kaberle will accept a trade or if Brian Burke will want to hold onto Kaberle who is still under contract for next year at a very reasonable rate considering the points he is accumulating on a less than stellar offensive team. I have of course heard the Chicago rumors as well and believe that while Kaberle could be included in a package for Sharp it is less likely that Kaberle would accept a deal to the West.
That has not at all quelled the rumors that the Leafs are very hot on Sharp.
I am also hearing rumors today that the Montreal Canadiens are back in "deep discussions" with the Florida Panthers. There was almost a deal between these two prior to the start of the regular season. I am hearing that the Habs are in love with Horton and willing to give up a significant defensive prospect in return.
Meanwhile the Predators may be an interesting place to look for a possible Kovalchuk deal due to the fact that they are stacked with the kinds of prospects that the Thrashers would be looking for should a decision be made. Talking to a source in Nashville I was informed that the ownership group in Nashville is considering the idea and possibly trying to woo Kovalchuk. I know that many will question whether or not the Preds will spend the huge dollars, but there is a growing belief in Nashville that a superstar that can turn local businesses on may be what the doctor ordered...
More to come...
