With only one game in the NHL today, things are going to get VERY interesting today. I expect that we see at least 3 trades today, and a Major one shortly...

Quick hits...

*The Sabres are NOT in on Jokinen. They are among the teams that question what Olli would do for a team's chemistry. The Flames are very much in on Jokinen, as are the Habs, Sens, Hawks, and Rangers.

*The Blues GM, JD, went on St.Louis radio today and all but declared that the Blues are not moving Tkachuk and that they are buyers, not sellers. This is great for the Blues fans who have long deserved their team to take a shot. One possibility here to look to...with the Guerin stuff that has gone on over the past 2 days and no real end in sight it would be interesting if the Blues would take him on as a rental. Guerin brings a lot. Until now he has said that he wanted to stay in the East. JD also said he could not comment on Pronger to the Blues rumors but was certainly not denying it.

*Sami Pahlsson has battled a lot this season from injuries to mono. People in the NHL remember how dominant Sami was in the Ducks run and Chicago and NJ are very interested.

*The Flyers are waiting for the call from Florida on what Martin wants for Jay Bo, I would bet that Claude Giroux is on that list. I sat in the same press box as Jacques for 2 games last week and Claude was out and out dynamic.

*It is possible that Witt could be returning to the Capitals...

*Nashville's Ville Koistinen is drawing much attention. Ottawa, Buffalo, Philly, and Tampa.

*Although Derek Morris would like to stay out West, he looks to be headed to either NJ, Ottawa, Buffalo or Boston.

*Erik Cole to Boston is very possible.

*The Coyotes are also looking to move Jovonavski. Its a Big Ticket Hit. NJ and Carolina are interested, but keep your eye on the Rangers. I was told if they started clearing space today it could be for Jovo.

*There is a rumor out there that Brian Burke could be in on the Pronger sweeps. I am checking..
