Quick note to all of you Canadians...I love Canada. I love the people. I love the respect that hockey is paid in your society. I love watching Canadian Television. There are some great kids shows on Canadian TV. I love Toopy and Binoo, but please, oh please, tell my what the thinking is behind Caillou. Why are you sending this us?
This show is just so baffling to me. It teaches children very confusing and mixed up lessons on morality and worst of all, the benefits of whining to your parents. It is disturbing! Please help!
Rumours are out there this morning that the NY Rangers are again trying to upgrade their D, and although they are in the Jay Bo sweeps it is somewhat curious that I am hearing all of these Derek Morris rumors this morning from various sources. The Sabres are also heavily into Morris and with good reason.
Rumor is the Predators are talking to the Flyers, Bruins, and Penguins in search for offensive help. (and no, I don't mean objectionable...) One name that I am hearing is Sykora...I have heard the Pens have an interest in Zanon plus prospects. Could make some sense.
On the Edmonton Jay Bo front, it is getting more and more interesting and it looks to be coming down to a three-way battle for Jay Bo between Toronto, Philly, and Edmonton.
In Montreal, it appeared that Kaberle may had taken the focus away from Jay Bo as I am told, "The Habs are maintaining resources for Vinny, which will pretty much take them out of the Jay Bo sweeps." Now with Kaberle out with a broken hand we will see how the Habs react.
While I see this, I think it is fair to note a trend here in Montreal. The Canadiens of the past few years have definitely hung their fortunes a bit...see Sundin, LeCavalier. This homerun mentality has burned them lately while they don't get involved in smaller, possibly more helpful deals.
From last night...
Just had to cut the buzzcast short as I was getting a deluge of calls and texts regarding Bouwmeester to Edmontom Rumours. The deal would apparently send Penner and a top six, MAJOR forward, a prospect, and a pick to Florida for Bouwmeester and a prospect.
There are even talks that it could happen as soon as this weekend with some actually texting me that they have heard the Oilers are trying to be assured that Jay Bo wants to play in Edmonton and that they can extend him.
Of course, there are many other teams that are rumoured to be involved in talks for Jay Bo so we will see...I will stay on it.
