Hockeybuzz.com, the most visited, independent, hockey-only website in North America, announced today they will provide exclusive online content for VERSUS, the exclusive cable television home of the National Hockey League (NHL), during the 2009 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The main feature on VERSUS.com includes "The View from the Inside" where Hockeybuzz writers will dissect the ins and outs of why teams will succeed or fail in the night’s game. Fans will be able to comment and Eklund, chief writer and CEO, will lend a prediction for the game as well.
The Hockeybuzz writers are among the most read "bloggers" on the internet and have all developed followings and communities among the nearly ten million unique visitors that have frequented Hockeybuzz.com over the site's first three NHL seasons in existence. Over that time, the names Hockeybuzz.com and Eklund have become household names throughout the hockey world.

Eklund, who calls Philadelphia home, recently completed the second season of shooting for his own television show on the Comcast Network in Philadelphia, called "Flyersbuzz TV." Eklund also has appeared on Canada's Sportsnet as part of their NHL Trade Deadline show, has been a guest on over twenty North American radio stations including a regular spot on XM Radio's 24/7 Hockey Channel, "Home Ice." Eklund hosts a regular Podcast that can be heard on Hockeybuzz.com with Julie Robenhymer, entitled "The Hockey Buzzcast."
Ek's Note: This is something that has been in the works for awhile and is really exciting news for all the people who work so hard to make Hockeybuzz a fun place to visit. There are some really amazing possibilities moving forward and we can't wait to get started!
Versus and Hockeybuzz both started out after the lockout and both have had record years. Versus has seen better hockey rating this season than hockey has EVER received in America, and much has to do with the great job that Neal Scarbrough has done at the network. When he approached us with this idea we felt we had to jump on it!
