Kudos to Newsday for officially confirming that Tampa Bay Lightning icon Martin St. Louis requested a trade from the Tampa Bay Lightning. It had already been rumored that he put in the request last month but now it seems like there's no turning back. No one has denied it, even with lip service. Once wheels like those get set in motion and confirmed publicly, a trade has to happen for the good of everyone involved.

Although there have been rumors of a St. Louis-for-Calllahan blockbuster, I am hearing that there are a host of other possibilities. Trying to sort things out.

Update. There are three teams in the Metro division talking to Tampa about St. Louis. It is no secret he has always wanted to play in NY but the Rangers aren't the only team in New York or within 90 miles of NY.

more to come...
