Since it’s only Calgary tonight, the pre-game would be a little boring on its own. So, to spice things up I thought I’d give my Vegas-style odds of winning the Cup.

I only felt it was necessary to include the top 12 in each conference and even that was generous. Enjoy.


PITTSBURGH - 3/1- they’re just a scary team if healthy

BOSTON- 4/1- they have the experience and a very good goalie

VANCOUVER- 4/1- when healthy and at their best they can beat anyone

CHICAGO- 5/1- everyone’s darling in mid-February has looked beatable

WASHINGTON- 6/1- red hot and with the way Ovie is going who knows?

LOS ANGELES- 10/1- reigning champs are always tough

MONTRÉAL- 10/1- the fact they never quit gives them a shot

ST. LOUIS- 10/1- one of the favourites at the start are rolling now

ANAHEIM- 13/1- having a dream year; I suspect it comes to an end without Stanley

SAN JOSE- 15/1- playing well, but it’s the freaking Sharks

OTTAWA- 16/1- they were counted out early, but they just won’t go away

NY RANGERS- 20/1- Lundquist gives them a shot, but can they score enough?

MINNESOTA- 22/1- doubt this is their year, but 2nd rd is possible

DETROIT- 25/1- just not feeling it

TORONTO- 40/1- they may will a round, but that’s about it

NY ISLANDERS- 42/1- hopefully they can stick around in the top 8

NEW JERSEY- 50/1- doubt they get in but if they do they always have a shot

WINNIPEG- 60/1- would love to see what the “Peg” would do if they got in

COLUMBUS- 80/1- if you got a goalie, you got a shot

PHILADELPHIA- 85/1- pretty far back, but a Pens/Flyers, 1 vs 8 could be fun

DALLAS- 100/1- B.C. Boyz and cheerleaders, I guess that gives them a “shot”

EDMONTON- 1000/1- yah, not this year, but don’t worry, SI loves you

PHOENIX- 1000/1- please God NO! Keep them out

BUFFALO- 1000/1- LOL, yah right, Playoffs, LOL
