Engine Trouble, but with a Chevy & Dealer

It's not the player's fault they were assembled as they have been nor is it their fault for the specific skills they may or may not have. That's the simple reality and it's up to the GM and the coaches to build and use them for what they are. So last night, and again on this long home stand the Jets could not get started.

Don't blame Helleuyck he's not the problem even as the team gave up 3 goals in the first 5 minutes and 4 in 10:04 of the first period as Carolina took a insurmountable lead with just under 50 minutes to play in the game. This team either is not working, broken, or it's been built with the wrong pieces but whatever ails it it won't fix itself that's for sure.

It's easy to point blame at the captain and say, 'where's the leadership?' and at times that was warranted but for this team and organization it's long past that time. Long past. It's time to take aim at the coaches for abysmal special teams, penalties and general play.

The Jets are not bad at 5v5 play and possession but when it comes to having to accelerate up a hill, i.e. the penalty kill there's nothing under the hood. The manufacturer, Chevy has given them nothing. Even when going downhill something is missing too as again it seems like the steering is off at high speeds. Looking at you again Chevy.

The mechanics at the dealership seem to be at a loss and either they are incapable of fixing the problems caused at the manufacturing plant or they are the wrong mechanics, woefully ill-equipped for the product they are to service.

Yet, there's no recall. There's no replacement parts and when looking at the near future there's no contract for two key suppliers nor is there any indication of who or what may replace those two suppliers. If you were a shareholder would you being investing more in this business?

That's the apt metaphor comparison for what the Jets are- a badly built car. Let's call it the Chevy Process. Its one where the mechanics can't fix defects and the manufacturer does not know how to make a recall. They assure customers there's a process but do you trust their eventually in development technology that has no set delivery date?

It's all to convenient and even beyond the blogs the media now has moved away from airline or aeronautic metaphors to automobile ones. The coincidences are too convenient as the GM and has a nickname of a known automobile brand and the owner made his fortune selling that same brand and others. Yet no one find it's curious that neither know how to fix a bloody thing, or even show willingness too.

The big club mimics the farm team, both last in each league and not a hint of change or effort to change has come for either. In the AHL it's easy as there is no cap, there are few impediments to make deals or roster moves, yet none come. It's a chicken and egg scenario with these two clubs or is it a art imitating life or vice versa?

Whatever it is, it's broken. PERIOD DOT THE END.

Trying to fix it now seems pointless as there's great value in being bad now than pushing forward until the math says you are out. But at least admitting you have a problem and are dealing with it can assure the shareholders that you care about them. Not even that is happening now and fans of the Jets would be wise not to trust the brands until they show something more. What reason do you have to keep the faith right now?
