I think it is obvious what will happen. Flyers and Isles will battle for the last playoff spot on the final game of the Regular season. Flyers will win in a Shootout and then advance all the way to the finals to lose in OT against the hawks on a weak P.Kane Goal.... |

Most of the players where being traded/available because they are junk..It's understandable that a playoff team wouldn't want to add junk.. |

The Flyers might not want to make the playoffs either, but the Devils dealt way their top scorer are trailing Philly and have played two more games...thats why I didn't include them - Eklund
With the return of kovy the devils should be included, he is the best trade deadline addition. |

Yes, but... not be rude, but so? Why should teams going no where be entitled to getting something for their players? Teams who go no where in the playoffs aren't. What's more, plenty of trades happened, just not last second. Why is that a problem for anyone other media types who put emphasis on one specific day?
I'm not saying the league can't be improved, but the idea that the trade deadline needs a lot of trades seems to be a self-serving one. |

I still here he is coming back, not this season but next season. The devils wont stop him. The Devils and Kovy parted ways mutually. NJ couldnt afford to pay him and he wanted to leave. I dont see NJ stopping him from playing elsewhere if they dont want him |

Plus it's the teams unloading the players who are to blame. They want more value than said players worth and wont drop the price. Hence, stuck with players. |

"How we can fix the trade deadline" - Eklund
I didn't realize it was broken.
Unless you mean to stop trying to create a false holiday about it with day-long "analysis" shows and hype. Then, yeah, end that and everything will be fine. |

How are the Wings in the driver's seat when other teams have up to 3 games in hand on them? Marginally easier competition in significantly less games is not an advantage.
Also, the Flyers are barely in the picture. You are falling for the Bettman Point Fallacy.

There's nothing wrong with the trade deadline.
There's everything wrong with GM's signing longterm high $$$ contracts with NTC to players who haven't earned them and hence do not play consistently up to them.
Again, it's the owners and GM's shooting themselves in the foot

Wings don't have to worry about metropolitan teams as long as they get more points then Boston and Ottawa and right now they are ahead of those teams with the same amount of games played and what seems to be an easier schedule so they are in the driver's seat. |

We're doing just fine. Perhaps you should worry about your own mess of a franchise and the fact you haven't won a cup in 40 years! |
