Plus it's the teams unloading the players who are to blame. They want more value than said players worth and wont drop the price. Hence, stuck with players. - cranktheradio
Exactly. The market dictates what something is worth. What i don't understand is, if Vancouver wasn't getting what they wanted for Hamhuis, why not lower the price? Why not take whatever, especially a pick? He's going to play for Vancouver next year either way, and they get a little something for a month of his service. |

We're doing just fine. Perhaps you should worry about your own mess of a franchise and the fact you haven't won a cup in 40 years! - Crushers68
There's nothing wrong with not winning Cups. |

I think it is obvious what will happen. Flyers and Isles will battle for the last playoff spot on the final game of the Regular season. Flyers will win in a Shootout and then advance all the way to the finals to lose in OT against the hawks on a weak P.Kane Goal.... - xShoot4WarAmpsx

I still here he is coming back, not this season but next season. The devils wont stop him. The Devils and Kovy parted ways mutually. NJ couldnt afford to pay him and he wanted to leave. I dont see NJ stopping him from playing elsewhere if they dont want him - xShoot4WarAmpsx
FALSE - NJ had no problem paying him. You're just making stuff up without a shred of facts to support it.
Also, you are entitled to your opinion that NJ won't stop him from playing elsewhere. My opinion is quite the opposite. I believe he will play in NJ or he doesn't play (unless he waits out the 1 year period) |

The trade deadline doesn't exist for the benefit of this site. Nothing is broken and nothing needs fixed.
The Flyers are 3 points back and the Penguins have a game in hand on them, 2 on the Bruins, and 2 on the Wings. The best chance NJ or Philly had to catch the Penguins came and went while Malkin was out of the lineup. I don't think the Flyers can catch the Pens, barring a significant injury to Letang, Crosby, or Malkin. |

I think it can be better. there are teams going nowhere stuck with players they can't get anything for. - Eklund
IMHO, that's not an issue with the deadline, its GM's overestimating the market for their assets and then not adjusting when they realize that they goofed. Teams like Toronto should have dumped everyone that they could have yesterday even if the return was minimal. There's a reason they are at the bottom of the standings year in and year out. |

I'm pretty sure the Devils had some serious financial woes looming the next season, then add the $11m he was due for the next few years, and you can see where they were more than happy to let him walk. |

I am working on a blog about "How we can fix the trade deadline" that I will be posting next - Eklund
This is the easiest question you've ever asked:
1. Stop making up rumors that never had a chance in hell of happening.
2. Check your "sources". When you start using Garth as a source, well, enough said. |

They are, but realistically the Flyers would need to win all three. |

Its certainly possible. It will help the Pens cause if they can stay healthy for once. (Except for Beau Bennett. He's always hurt, so we don't count him in any health equation) |
