I understand how it comes across. I guess I'm just the type of guy that goes against the grain when the masses all formulate the same mindless position. People just read Oilersnation or listen to TSN1260 and follow the herd. Sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong, I just want to read some original positions on here.

How's that retool going for you guys? You'll be talking about "that time we made the playoffs in 2014" for years to come.

Should be an exciting game... Both teams have a really good shot at worst in the league title again. Wonder who's going to lose. So exciting!!
- Razzdazzle1

In case you haven't looked at the standings today, your team is 2 spots below Buffalo and 1 ahead of us. Pretty high and mighty from your burning dumpster aren't we?

Projected Sabres lineup:

Evander Kane - Jack Eichel - Sam Reinhart

Marcus Foligno - Johan Larsson - Brian Gionta

Dan Catenacci - Cal O'Reilly - Zemgus Girgensons

Nicolas Deslauriers - David Legwand - Matt Moulson

Josh Gorges - Rasmus Ristolainen

Jake McCabe - Zach Bogosian

Carlo Colaiacovo - Mark Pysyk

Robin Lehner

With all due respect to Buffalo fans, the Oil should beat this team.
Will they though?

- Wildschwein

Should we beat them? Yes but since this is the Oilers we are talking about its certainly not a slam dunk...plus our record on the road is brutal (7-20-5)...will probably be another close game that we will hopefully be on the winning side of....would also be a great bonus if another injury didnt happen

Nuge, klefbom, gryba, now pouliot.

Plus we sent down 2 guys that have played very well for us during these last 3.

Ugh

Might as well shelter them from this team for the rest of the year and let them win some games and play in the playoffs...it good that Nurse will also be down there at seasons end...I guess this also allows PC to test drive a few players in the process...speaking of Klefbom has anyone heard of a possible return date? is he even coming back this year?

i still think our number 1 priority should be wins up here. Even just moving up a few spots. Even if it's a long shot, we win tonight and we're kinda back in the mix with that group ahead of the very dregs of Toronto and Us.
They talk about spirit and confidence, nothing raises that more than wins. Even meaningless ones.

But there's certainly some logic to what they're doing. More than just a few reasons actually.
And I don't wanna overstate khaira and oesterles loss. Just sayin

The other day Max said Oscar was skating and should probably my be a couple weeks. Not really sure, but sounds like we could get him for the final 10ish

If not then I would certainly advocate this form of treatment to be administered upon him/her/it at the earliest available opportunity.

I can't believe you'd do this.

Take it back and reset the jinx

This is the oilers. There isn't really s rational reason we should think they can beat ANYONE

- HB77

No jinx in effect. I said should, not would.

You could make an argument either way but I agree with you that we should be trying to win regardless of where we are at this time of season.....that being said if the new additions can come in and play decent then that offsets moving the two kids back down...really sucks we are even in this position to begin with...as I said before a very important summer coming up for this team

It's a very tiny group mostly young guys just starting out in the AHL. The only other one I can think of with NHL experience is Hellebuyck from Winnipeg.
