Try being a Bills fan they haven't been good since the dawn of boy bands...

To be fair the 09-11 teams were pretty exciting, especially the one that won the division. They just weren't build for the playoffs.

When I have kids, I can tell them stories of the good old days growing up watching Jp Losman and Trent Edwards.

I wish I was 35 giz, I'll be 57 on the 17th. I remember game 4 of that series, got done with a midget major tournament up in Tronna and my dad was looking for a tv to catch the end of the game lol.

Those games in Buffalo were awesome. The fog game, the bat that Jim Lorentz whacked, good times.

Bylsma could have done some better things this year but the way I see it is he was a Pegula hire, not a Murray hire. He'll get next season and if they regress, he's gone.

Also wondering out of this group of RFA's who they do not extend qualifying offers to- Girgs, D-Lo, Larsson and Foligno. Gotta think one of them might not get an offer.

I missed the comeback game against the Oilers but I was in the stands for the blizzard game when we crushed the Raiders 51 - 3.

I'd keep Girgensons but to be frank if you ask me right now who I'd rather have as my 3rd line center between Girgensons and Larsson I'd pick Larsson. He at least is very good in his own end. Guy has no offensive ability to save his life but at leas he plays the role of a 3rd line guy. Girgensons can't seem to do anything right this year.
He seems to have lost his speed, his passion and his crazy, devil may care style of play.
Weather that's coaching, injury or something else. I don't know. But I have to tell you it's very painful and sad to watch. Especially for someone who I initially thought would end up being a 2nd line center power forward's poor man's Getzlaf.

Girgensons is in his 3rd year with the Sabres, the first two were on 30th placed teams. His style of putting himself through the boards to make a play has only gotten himself injured. I don't blame the guy for mailing it in for the season. Why kill yourself when you don't have to? Of course nobody like to see that attitude, and I don't either, but to me that appears to be the case with Girgensons and several other players. I think once this team regroups for next season, if we can do better out of the gate, Girgensons will come around, winnings contagious.

The deadline has passed and this seasons is a loss with only a high draft pick being a silver lining. I wouldn't care too much about how players play from here on out, it can only help us by having them chit the bed. But next season has to start with more discipline to a winning mentality or else ship players out of here early and shake things up.

The problem isn't with Girgs...its with the coach and his "system" (who the (frank) knows when we'll actually see this mythical Bylsma system appear)

He has misused Girgs all year and it shows in the kids' production

Christ i don't get why him winning a cup WITH CROSBY AND MALKIN translates into him deserving to get a pass when the team has played like poop all year...even with all the toys Murray gave him at the beginning of the season, Bylsma's "system" produced jack and poop

EDIT: was I expecting to make the playoffs? realistically no...but I was hoping our team had moved beyond the "suffering" and we wouldn't be sitting here crossing our fingers for the #1 pick

I agree with your post. But players are usually partly to blame along with bad coaching. Look at Mario Williams. Bad system + bad coaching = players not giving a (frank).

Neither will play unless Lundqvist is hurt but Im a little surprised Sweden chose Markstrom over Lehner given his play of late.
