Bylsma has super complicated breakouts, and it takes a long time for the defensemen to adjust to the system. And not every guy does. Ben Lovejoy took shots at Bylsma's breakout system when he was traded to the Ducks. In the NFL they have an advantage, because they have so many different camps and OTAs it's a lot easier to install an offense and defense. They don't have that luxury in the NHL they have like 3 weeks from the start of training camp to the start of the season and they can only practice so much with CBA guaranteed off days. So it's going to take some time before he gets his system fully installed to where he wants it. You could say that maybe a system that takes an entire season to install isn't the best system, but then again this was always a transition season as viewed from the owner on down. Tim Murray might be "pissed off" at where they are in the standings, but he's right in saying this team is a lot better than last year just not showing in the standings yet. But he said way before the season that they weren't a cap team yet, and they weren't a playoff team yet, he just wanted to "get better everyday" obviously that's literally unrealistic, but his basic premise is that of incremental improvement over the course of the season, and granted we can't score for poop right now, but defensively we're a metric (frank)ton better than last year.

I was actually just listening to the Schopp & the bulldog show on the WGR app from earlier today

Listen to hour 3 at the 30:00 minute mark
They actually specifically discuss they "style" of play under Bylsma & reference how we're playing more "defensively" right now bc these kids aren't ready to play the way Bylsma wants them to play "offensively" yet

I do think it'll come though

I know that no one really wants to hear that we need to patient STILL...
But this team is still gonna be a work in progress for a few more years
We're still acquiring players
And they'll still have to continue to figure out who plays well together, as well as learn they "system" that Bylsma wants to play

He's a smart coach
I'm happy with him so far

And all the crap about Eichel not taking the opening faceoff last night is dumb
Listening to everyone on WGR freak out about that today was so annoying

Queen was still the greatest show I ever saw . Saw them 6 times . Had the honor to meet everyone but Freddie at The Mercury trust show . I was tour Managing Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson at the time in Europe and we did the show . One of the greatest days ever.

Yeah, that was the point. It was good, I enjoyed it. It was maybe a little derivative, could've been maybe 15 minutes shorter, but overall it was a good movie. I still think "Blade" is my favorite Marvel movie.

Did you watch the TV show? It's been a little while since it was on, but it was pretty decent.

Leafs lost last night so i say we don't come away with two... but this time we survive the OT period just to realize we can't send anyone reliable for a shootout

Gotta think Schaller gets a look before COR

Ennis and Bogosian being moved is interesting. I am not of the I hate Bogosian train. I think they keep him and move Franson.

If the 2016 is anywhere after 5 I am okay trading it for Lindholm.

I think Ennis goes in a deal with Pysyk for Drouin and a salary comes back like Carle. But I don't think Drouin is a real target. It's Stamkos and a defenseman to play with Risto.

I still want a top 3 pick, sign Stamkos and figure out a deal for Lindholm after drafting one of the Fins.

The there's talk that Fasching is Buffalo bound after his season ends and that he is here full time next year.

That's a lot of movement . But it's pretty much what would fix this team into a contender.

And at the same time still leave GMTM with enough draft picks to improve the prospect cupboard and still have draft picks to dangle at the trade deal line to buy if they are in position to go on a run.

The future is bright if this off season goes well.

If Fasching makes the jump. He moves into Giontas spot. Gionta goes to line 4 and you have a third line of

Foligno - Larsson - Fasching. Its a heavy line that will bring power, some touch and some grit.

Add - To me a pick around the top 5 you want a player to come in right away and have an impact. Trading it for a 22 year old Defensman is almost identical to drafting.

The only issue is Bogosian and Ennis is 9MM worth of Cap. It would have to be someone with a decent cap hit coming back.

Unless you move them in separate deals for additional picks/prospects.
