Will Team Russia take Medvedev or Manning? This is what weighs on my mind most. |

Congrats to Stolie the Goalie!
Anthony Stolarz has been nothing short of incredible in his second season as a pro, and Wednesday's 3-2 shootout win over the Syracuse Crunch served as a reminder.
Stolarz stopped 51 of 53 shots, topping the franchise record and becoming the second-ever Phantoms goalie to save 50 or more pucks in a game. The previous record was held by Carson Chubak, who made 50 saves in a 4-3 win over Albany on April 6, 2014.

Stuff like he's been a good soldier and didn't skip a camp because he had an injury, or his dad was an assistant of somebody or other.
Lot of organizations are like that. Hockey Canada is rife with it. Chris Kunitz made the Olympic team because he was Crosby's linemate. Joe Hicketts was the top D on the World Junior team because his dad is a Hockey Canada guy.
Same thing goes on with the US team. Look at Abdelkader. He got named and Lombardi said "He's a kid. He's only going to get better" Abdelkader is 29. - Jsaquella

I disagree. I think Giroux cares about this more than he's letting on. |

I'm fine with him not going. Let him simmer over it all summer, and come to camp with a Chara sized chip on his shoulder. - Jsaquella
We're talking about a guy who went through the OHL draft twice w/o being selected... not sure his chip can get much bigger, lol. |

They gave up 50+ shots in a game? Maybe we should loan them noted shotblocker exroidinaire Andrew MacDonald to help generate defense |

I'm disappointed in Hakstol for not starting him in a game this season. |

Lucic and Abdelkader in my opinion are terrible overrated. Wayne Simmonds I cannot tell if he's rated perfectly or underrated by everyone.

Both goalies have been playing well and they are trying to make the playoffs. Not sure if it is the right time to play a rookie goaltender. They probably could have gave him a game when he was called up recently, but the points are so important right now I think they want to go with the veterans. |

I mean...he just stopped 51 shots in a game. I'd say that is evidence that what the Flyers are doing is working |

Not only that, but why, if you have an NHL goalie available, would you start Stolarz. He will get his time. Let him keep on honing his game at the NHL level. Hell he has only played in like 50 pro games to date. |

By he, you mean Stolarz.
While Stolarz back up Mason for a week, including a back to back on a weekend, I would have liked to have seen him get one start. I was suggesting that maybe Stolarz confidence might be shattered because he didn't or even considered how he felt about it at all, it's just what I would have liked to have saw. I don't think one start would have hurt his progression.

After EDM the schedule looks very tough.
CBJ is never a gimme for the Flyers, then home and home vs Tampa, Florida, Detroit and Chicago on back to back nights on the road.
They could be way out of the wild card picture by the time the next game vs Pitt happens. |

At the time of the call up is when I was disappointed Stolarz didn't get a look at. We actually lost both the back to back games on the weekend that Stolarz was backing up Mason. |

But at the time, Mason seemed like the best choice, imo. every point counts as we can see from the standings. I would like to see him get a game too and see where he's at, but I understand why they didn't play him. |

Sure but Stolarz is having an outstanding season and I'm not a big believer in playing a goalie in back to back nights. This is just me though. |
