So what, its true. Hags long flowing Fabio flocks blowing in the breeze dont count for much in the playoffs. OMG Kessel will score 50+ with Malkin give the Pens the cup now!!!!!Not even on pace for 25. I might be negative but I'm usually right about the direction of this team, but hey why stop drinking the cool-aid.
- sammy87

Right now, this team looks like it's about to go on a tear. Go Pens!

so I am a cool-aid drinker for not being negative about every sinlge (frank)ing thing about the team I love? wow you sound like you are the embodiment of negativity... nothing wrong about being a little negative from time to time (am that myself cuz I as many others get mad at the team at times). But to not enjoy any little sliver of the teams positives... I wouldn't be able to even live like that.

You don't like anyone here and no one here likes you. You only whine about the penguins so obviously they don't bring joy to your life. I've gotta say I'm sorry for whoever hurt you in your life for you to think relationships like these are worth it. But they aren't, so stop already. It doesn't do anything positive for anyone. Stop bringing others down with you. Stop thinking the sun shines out your butt just because you say a broad statement and it slightly comes true. Go somewhere you're wanted and appreciated. Its very easy to start your own blog for "fans" like you to talk to each other.

Although I do think physical play has at least some effect on the Pens, I thought the overwhelming problem was being gassed from playing the night before. In the last 5 minutes they didn't have the legs to put on a push.

I'm probably going to get some heat, but I still think Geno needs to clean up details in his game. He can't be the guy leading our team in PM's. It's ridiculous and I feel he cost us a point at minimum.

Agreed. He has stereotypical Russian tendencies.

When the team won in 09 he probably still found something to complain about and said it doesn't count

No, those were fun times. Then Shero wanted to keep the band together for the next 10 years and here we are. A borderline playoff team.

It's alot easier for you and the Debbie Downers to be right. 28 teams dont make the finals every year. The league is extremely even because of the salary cap. Parity is at an all time high. Theres much better chances they don't win the cup than they do and that goes for every team.

28 of the teams dont have 87, 71 and 58 either. Its a once in a very rare opportunity to have that type of talent all together and management keeps finding a way to mess it up. Thats why I am frustrated with the Pens. The management/ownership has been pretty bad if not awful. Maybe Mario found a formula that makes a lot of money by having big name players in town with no Cup prospects. If thats the case Im not buying.

Sid was frustrated again with his line. It's been said before but having horny and Kuni on that line limits the amount of play making ability on the line. It's all on Sid to carry the puck in and setup the other two. I wish he'd just shoot more instead of the pull up and dish but it's almost habit now. Worked once last night. Geno's line is all speed and no grind now. It looked like Phil's first game with contact. He pulled up a few times to avoid contact. Maybe drop Kuni back to Geno's line and try Hags and Horny on Sid's line. For longer then 1 game.

Do you not see how this team has been rebuilt? We're on the cusp of having one of those years where no one expects it, and it happens. I'd hate myself if I hated the car so much that I didn't enjoy the ride.

How stupid of a gm to try to keep the core of a championship team together. What a knucklehead he was.

It was managements fault those players you mentioned (87, 71 and 58) did F all vs the Bruins a few years back?... You act like 87, 71 and 58 are the only superstars in the league.

Kunitz, Dupes, Scuds were not the core.

Scuds maybe not. But many can argue kuni is because of his versatility. Duper because of his leadership character and speed. Guys like those are very much needed.

I'm all for this. I said last night. If your looking for a slick set-up pass from that line, chances are the only one doing it is Sid. I never once felt like Sid got the puck in a prime shooting area.

I also felt Kunitz really looked his age through most of the game....especially after the first. Those back to backs are rough on him.

Edit... I also hated the PP last night. It never seemed like they got set up with Sid down low and Geno on the half wall.

I always liked Kunitz. But they won a cup in 09 and those guys were like 28 or 29. Theres absolutely no reason to keep them around and give them a raise into their late 30's. This is where drafting comes into play.

It's not meaningless up here.... Nor is it meaningless for any player...but if you're not into the world's best players representing their countries and playing each other in a short tournament during the summer in historically the worst/deadest month for hockey in the year, that's up to you. To each their own I guess.

In a contact sport, players should only take "contact" playing for their employer who's paying them millions to do so. The financial well being of some of these franchises depends on selling tickets to see these guys. I'll lose my mind of one of the Penguins gets a long term injury......because let's be honest, our players haven't exactly proven to be durable.

F what the players want to do. That's where the term "professional" comes in.
