In a contact sport, players should only take "contact" playing for their employer who's paying them millions to do so. The financial well being of some of these franchises depends on selling tickets to see these guys. I'll lose my mind of one of the Penguins gets a long term injury......because let's be honest, our players haven't exactly proven to be durable.

F what the players want to do. That's where the term "professional" comes in.

You must be a real company man. F that. As long as the players show up for all things Pens and try there hardest what they do away from the Pens in their own time is their own business. This isn't the KHL.

My apologies. I didn't know this was your forum, and only homer positive thoughts could be posted. FYI most of the negative perceptions have been 100% accurate over the years on this board.

It's pretty ordinary when certain posters only turn up after a loss & start whinging about what they whinge about again & again & again & .............again & again. It's the same comments about the same things & only when we lose! When we win they aren't on here talking about the win, they aren't talking about anything positive because they don't show up - we won! Only sometimes Sammy gets on here & still whinges after a loss degrading our opposition or pointing out errors from the player he hates, but pretty much is a no show after a good game or win.

It's ok to be frustrated, but we all are. It doesn't make anyone any better by pointing out the same thing or to that point an obvious fault that hasn't been fixed. You may as well just say (frank) we didn't win the Cup - this team is poop!

Well we're in the middle of a rebuild, the difference between the teams so far is one is better at the shootout

It would be pretty embarassing of the flyers beat this team out for the 8 seed. that might be what it takes to change things

You better not do.

If we miss the playoffs, you know we're winning the draft lottery. All Leaf fans know it deep in their soul.

I think Edmonton are a lock.

If something goes wrong however, I'd put money on Montreal, Buffalo, Vancouver or Ottawa winning it

Solutions big man, solutions.

Those that come on here and preach negativity don't come with solutions.

get tougher or have more grit are not solutions, they are platitudes.

How do you propose the team gets tougher, who do you acquire, who do you move, how do you fit it under the cap?

Its easy to come in and trash or praise a team, but coming up with realistic ideas is not easy.

They can have Matthews as long as we get Laine. That's my limit

It's not meaningless up here.... Nor is it meaningless for any player...but if you're not into the world's best players representing their countries and playing each other in a short tournament during the summer in historically the worst/deadest month for hockey in the year, that's up to you. To each their own I guess.

Wonder where Kessel's mind is at, not being named to the team . . . yet. Somebody like Abdelkader being named over him tells me just how much Phil has fallen.

Lose a close game to the best team in the league after they played the night before and everyone on here wants to trade everyone and start over.

Rebuild? Nope.

They got rid of some poop contracts but they've kept all their important pieces together. That my (non) friend is not a rebuild.

Geez...just noticed Phat Phil's stats...is he regressing or is this just a coincidental off year for the 2nd season in a row? Seriously, not trolling.
