He has a year left on his contract, wouldn't mind giving him a shot at building up some trade value in meaningless games before the summer. He excelled when he was given more of a role last year, I fully expect Gio and Brodie's minutes to be scaled back in order to give the rest of our d more experience in all situations.

2007- backlund is the only solid pick.
08- bouma and brodie
09- ""Tim erixon with 20
10- ""max Reinhart with 20

I doubt there's much of a market at all for Wideman. he fits well on the flames with 3 quality defenders ahead of him...but that contract is immovable.

Yeah if they can retain some salary (a lot) there might be a team who thinks that he could work with a rookie on there 3rd pair and be useful on the powerplay (emphasis on might).

I think Boston would have taken him this year over JML.
