12 or 13 now?
Like we're not missing him or anything, but this arbitration process is extremely unfair for the player. They should make it more like baseball where the player gets to play until the appeal process is done with. Bet this thing would've been settled in a week or two
I'm hoping he comes back pissed as (frank) and puts up some numbers like he did at the end of last year, be nice if he could create a market for himself so we can dump his contract at the draft. |

Yeah 100% it should be like MLB. Bettman totally took advantage of the situation, Why he was even involved is stupid..We all knew what his decision was going to be. It should go straight to arbitrator. Too many BS steps. Cluster F*&% from the get go |

Mostly about money at this point, he stands to lose 500 K in salary. Don't blame him for trying to get as much of that back as possible, can't say I wouldn't do the same |

He has a year left on his contract, wouldn't mind giving him a shot at building up some trade value in meaningless games before the summer. He excelled when he was given more of a role last year, I fully expect Gio and Brodie's minutes to be scaled back in order to give the rest of our d more experience in all situations. |

Seriously guy, don't get to excited.
After all, you could still have Russell on the roster |

Or they could have Benning as a GM and fail to move anybody for value.
P.S. that made my trade deadline day |

And here I was starting to feel like I wasn't needed...
Stop trolling each other... Flames fans, Oil fans... discuss whatever you want. Stop calling each other names or I'll hand out long bans to both parties because I'm too busy to have to come back and do it again in a week. |

U hit the jackpot in the 4th round
If it was such great scouting knowing he'd be so great hedve been your first pick. This wasnt some brilliant scheme to leave him out there.
A number 1 in the 4th round.
You got lucky for the most part.
Scouting is far from an exact science. Wayy more misses than hits.
Late rounds are crapshoots - Ihateallofu
Shows how little you know. Learn the story of CGY's scouting and subsequent plan on drafting Gaudreau. Then you'll understand it's not simply luck in a crapshoot. |

In 2005- their most successful pick played a total of ten games in the nhl.
2006- "" Leland Irving with 13.
2007- backlund is the only solid pick.
08- bouma and brodie
09- ""Tim erixon with 20
10- ""max Reinhart with 20
Etc etc etc (some of the years previous were even worse)
And most of those I named with little to no success (but still by far your best pick of the year) in the nhl were first rounders.
So tell me again how it's an exact science and they knew exactly what they were doing taking Brodie with their second pick of the 4th round?
2011 looks like a great year (jg, brossoit) but then 2012 looks brutal.
Theres soooooo much luck involved. It's hardly even debateable |

Wow. For a guy that insults people regularly about being able to read, perhaps you should follow your own advise. Nothing you're saying here has anything to do with what I said. And to clarify, I didn't say exact science, you did. I'm just debunking your "luck" and "crapshoot" theory on Gaudreau |

I pretty much just proved that it is
Tj Brodie in the 4th round turning into a true 1 is absolutely unequivocally luck
But I never even mentioned gaudreau. Not once
I'm not sure what it is exactly that u feel you've "debunked" ?
also, I NEVER use the "learn to read" insult. You just made that up so you could use it on me.
I use much better insults than that. |

You're not doing anything but make yourself look like a fool. Didn't take a guy until the 4th round, knowing he's gonna turn into a #1 dman??? That's really one the most foolish things I've read on here (including the drivel newmy spews). I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul! |

I doubt there's much of a market at all for Wideman. he fits well on the flames with 3 quality defenders ahead of him...but that contract is immovable. |

Yeah if they can retain some salary (a lot) there might be a team who thinks that he could work with a rookie on there 3rd pair and be useful on the powerplay (emphasis on might).
I think Boston would have taken him this year over JML.
Heard that idiot Potatoe got the permaban. RIP |
