Etc etc etc (some of the years previous were even worse)

And most of those I named with little to no success (but still by far your best pick of the year) in the nhl were first rounders.

Scouting is far from an exact science. Wayy more misses than hits.

All draft picks come with an element of luck, look no further than Yakoflop to see even 1st overalls are bound to the same rules. You haven't proven anything and you, master manipulator himself, is the one reaching now and making himself look foolish.

Yeah if they can retain some salary (a lot) there might be a team who thinks that he could work with a rookie on there 3rd pair and be useful on the powerplay (emphasis on might).

I doubt there's much of a market at all for Wideman. he fits well on the flames with 3 quality defenders ahead of him...but that contract is immovable.

It won't be easy, but I think it could be done. The leafs traded Clarkson and Phaneuf, no contract is immovable.

I kinda feel bad for the guy, anchor or not he's a pretty decent guy who has no history of being a doink. The CBA failed him with this appeal process.
