Keeping Mashinter in the lineup and taking out Panik is ONE THING: Its VERY stupid. Nothing more. Nothing less. Its just flat out DUMB.

Our future HOF coach, as amazing as he is, is wrong. It makes no sense. It doesn't give us a better lineup, and it rids us of a better player.

Luckily, this is probly Mashinter's last game with Hossa likely returning Sunday.

I can't fathom Q keeping Mash and benching Rasmussen. If that happens all hell might break lose.

Absolutely maddening, isn't it?

It used to be. Now I've become apathetic to the whole thing.

Q is going to do what he is going to do. There is no changing that.

Because Q is dumb(when it comes to his use of Mashinter)

And what happens when Q baffles all -- Hossa comes back and Mashinter stays in the lineup. Because I think you have to get ready for that very real possibility.

Q's got 3 Cups -- I don't -- but clearly, this decision is a legend in his own mind.
It's (frank)ing nuts.

Do you see any possible way he would bench Weise/Flash/TT/Rasmussen/Desi/Shaw and keep Mashinter in once Hossa returns?

The scary answer is......i do. I just hope im wrong, because thats going too far.

In all fairness to Lumpy Potatoes he had a hell of a game (for him) twice in the last two games. While Panik plays at a higher level, he hasn't played to his potential as Mash has- he may have even exceeded his potential against the Caps.

Good for him, poopty for us, and I dare say we have almost seen the end of him. (how many times have we said this including myself earlier....)

FWIW, I actually liked Bollig...

...just not in the line-up during the playoffs.

Yeah but Bollig was never taking ice time away from more capable forwards. He was(mainly in 2014) our best option at 4LW, thats how bad our depth was.

No longer the case now.

I just don't franking get it. Weise, Desardans and Shaw can all drop the mitts if needed. THERE IS NO REASONABLE LOGIC FOR MASHINTER TO BE IN THE LINEUP OVER PANIK

Mashinter has played the best he can, gives it his all, but even then he played i believe just 8 minutes last night. And looked slow at times. Panik looked noticeably better, because he is better.

Yes there is Enzo. You are forgetting. This is Q.

Why did we choose to address our forward depth rather than #4D if Q is just going to play Mashinter anyways

I'm not disagreeing, just saying we've seen this movie before. Regin was a better option at forward in the '14 playoffs, IMO. Stone hands but could skate and take draws if needed. Just saying Q has a soft spot for these "try hard", role player type guys. At least Mash takes fewer bad penalties than Bollig.

Guarantee y'all the skilled guys welcome Mash's inclusion, especially in a hostile, rugged barn like Boston's.

Does anyone have any intel on Alex Lyon? Lyon is a goalie with Yale and could be a good college free-agent find. I know he was invited to the Blackhawks prospect camp in 2014, but other than that I don't know much.
- DarthKane

I do but is is very very old. I believe he was eligible in 2011 but I didn't have in my mock or profiles. I added him the next draft 2012, but this was high school / HS tournament goalie I was watching.
I typed a few words and never thought he would get drafted.
(He didn't)

At the time and in the Hawk prospects camp, I am not so sure he grew the inch his current Yale roster says he gained, making him supposedly 6' 1."

I heard there were over a dozen teams interested in him, but come on, why not be, b/c your owner only pays cash for the right to see if he can actually improve.

But before you get visiosn he is another Ed Belfour, pull back on the reigns...

Here's the old profile, but I just want to say I watched some Yake to see Hawks John Hayden and Lyon didn't stand out, or on his head on saves.

Read

and remember
a) I know squat about hockey
b) I am not an expert on injuries and the "oh, he's as good as new" theories
and most importantly

Alex was in high school when I wrote it.

Will Reaves' suspension be up by next Wed? Anybody willing to bet Q sits him if Reaves is in? Ott will draw back in at some point, speaking of cockroaches. Not saying I agree with it, just sayin...

Mashinter will be in plenty til the end of the regular season to make sure that our skilled players are in one piece come playoff time. This is the only possible explanation for this!
