Fine by me. I'd rather other people get ice time and the player relief fund get bigger. |

It's nice to see your heart, and mind, are in the right place.
But as long as Hitchcock is coach, I'm sure Reaves will have a roster spot. |

I do find it funny how the current speed of the game has the GMs/coaches saying yeah we need another right handed defender, etc all time...or siting how valuable having a right hander shooting deeman is....
I am preety sure in the original six what i just said was fact...teams were comprised of the better players available inside their organizations and most shot left handed.
They very fact, stanley that you stated your difference and walleye that article have made my day. - wiz1901
I'd buy into that....best player regardless of off hand or not. Also, because of this throughout their playing days, they were likely a lot more used to playing the off side and thus better at it. They also likely started playing the off side at a younger age which made it easier to pick up too. Just my 2 cents of logic which may not be worth 1.

Every single poster on this site would "play hard" if given an opportunity to play for the Chicago Blackhawks. Does NOT mean that we belong on the ice. Mashinter does not have NHL level ability and Richard Panik does. |

Mashinter has played better than I thought he would but I still think the Hawks have better options than him.

To 6628, and all the poster who find this disscussion stream interesting:
I have tried to engage Kyle Woodleif and many other of the scouting sites to discuss this area, but most thought what I thought to not be the case-
that during the original six there was a large disportioncate amount of left shooters, and I was attempting to engage them to see if they thought as I did that THAT HAD CHANGED and was it the fact that we no longer were force left-hander writer to change, or was it simply that there were more right handed people thus, more left handed hockey shooters.
Honestly I promise in the summer (not now when I shouldn't be taking this break even) I am gonna pull all my 1960's Stadium hockey programs (that you all refuse to purcahse from me) and match the real lines ups with my memory and the old NHL guides from each year and I am gonna give yo totals on the original six, illustrating the limited number of right shooters.

Hey Wiz, I'm a mutt. I can catch with either hand, I can bat left or right, and I can play the net left or full right. The one thing I can't do is play hockey with a left handed hockey stick. And I write with my right hand. Makes no sense.

Classic. Although Jack Edwards is close to unlistenable.
And Darling another short side goal he should have stopped. |

I guess if Q ultimately loses trust in Darling...
...Leighton gets the job.
Which would be fine... |

Sucks that Darling is having such a bad year. I dont know his numbers but every time he gets a start it seems he looks like poop. Horrible rebound given up and it was almost 2-0. Can't have some inept backup goalie ruining our flow and costing us points. |

how many goals do you see when deflected off of a dmans stick...
answer: alot
they change direction and speed...the goalie is reading it one way and then it dips, rises or flutters like a knuckler...
tough to stop'em all |

He's got a hella tough job, coming in once every 5-6 games and expected to be razor sharp.
