If the leafs were tanking they'd be dressing Horton and robidas every game.

And I doubt Babcock is tanking. What were they supposed to do, play Marner at 160 pounds?

It's funny, people say the Leafs shouldn't be 'tanking', they should win more games and be higher in the standings. How, exactly? How would one go about that?

Everyone picks the leafs to be one of the worst teams and then when they actually are everyone is up in arms saying they're doing it on purpose.

Funny innit, cause they said from the start we are probably going to struggle, but we are going to work through it, keep our draft picks and develop them, not build a team on UFA day, etc. How dare they!

Meanwhile, when Burke said I'm impatient, I'm trading two firsts and a second, signing Beauchemin and Komi, they ended up low in the standings anyway and everyone made fun of that strategy.

It's highly entertaining seeing the likes of nucks fans come in here and tell us we're circumventing the cba by claiming Frankie corado on waivers, and that we destroyed our cap by trading phanuef.

With this group, Babs, Shanny, Lou in particular, I don't think this was a tank as much as a teardown to get out from under the awful contracts and having a clean slate for the club.

How many 1 goal games have we lost this year? You convert even half of those to OT, maybe another 50% of those to wins, and we're sniffing at a playoff position.

Niedermayer.

The luongo trade as well. That was a 3rd overall pick we traded away I believe for a worn out and broken Wendel Clark

Agreed. There have been very few blowouts this season. And even fewer questionable efforts.

I really think laine is better. Just Mathews is a center. I think laine is going to be a dominating player and a game changer while Mathews is going to be a 200 foot player.

From everything I have read, this draft is three deep and then a bit of a drop. Getting one of those big three kids is a must!

Does anyone know the stats. If we fist last we have a 20% chance of winning #1. What about #2 and #3?

Yup.trying to ride themselves of their high priced players (which to no ones surprise weakened the team) was the goal.

I think he's done a decent job of trying to become a 5-6 dman.

No I mean if we miss on #1 I believe our odds go up to win #2 and then up again for #3. Just not sure how it all works exactly

The allocation of odds for the 1st Lottery draw will be the same as outlined above for the 2015 NHL Draft Lottery. The odds for the remaining teams will increase on a proportionate basis for the 2nd Lottery draw, based on which Club wins the 1st Lottery draw, and again for the 3rd Lottery draw, based on which Club wins the 2nd Lottery draw.

Yeah, I was hoping for much better from MM. He does a decent enough job of denying zone entries (I've seen him many times deny forwards from getting in by using his stick well), but whenever he has the puck on his stick and has to make a play it's like he's trying to play with a (frank)ing grenade...

As of Mar 3,

Teams ranked by CF% (Corsi For percentage) VS. Teams ranked by Points%

According to the "For Dummies" website, a coefficient of correlation of .33 is defined as:

+0.30. A weak uphill (positive) linear relationship

Ran 10 times again. The Leafs, with the best chance now, had 1 2nd and 1 3rd.

The Canucks, and Oilers won twice each.

Sure looks like tanking is not the holy grail it used to be. I bet we finish 28th or 29th and draft 5th or 6th.

So who is around with those picks?

Nylander? Tkachuk? Dubois? Chychrun?
