Or sign him to such a deal, then move him to one of the teams who were willing to offer him the same deal. - Wildschwein
True but if he walks its to a team that can afford him .. |

Kessel has played plenty of minutes on the 3rd line in PIT - eichiefs9
Well if we had an offensive lineup that deep then I understand. Let’s give the Islanders a couple years to grow. |

If it’s a sign and trade, then you don’t need to afford him for less long. |

Our top-6, overall, isn't too far off. It's just the entire rest of the roster that sucks a mile of schlong - eichiefs9
Top 6 is close, but bottm 6 are dreadful!

I'll take him for $14 mill.
Canes will have $32+ million in cap space and only Lindholm, Hanifin, TVR and a Goalie to sign.
Not to mention whatever space we'd have if we do end up trading Faulk. - BINGO!
14 mill? JT better improve his leadership and D big time for that price. |

Typically 3rd lines are shutdown or defensively responsible more so than offensive. JHS and defensively responsible don't go together imho. He has skill and should be utilized on a 1st or 2nd line if he ever gets his head out of his ass ! - nyisles7
I think the days of lines being scoring lines or defensive lines is somewhat declining. All four lines now should be able to play both sides. Having a kid like Ho Sang on the third line gives the isles numerous scoring line combos. That being said, i dont believe he stays on Lou Lams isles.... |

Any predictions for Caps/Lightening Game 7? Backstrom to Oshie was just money in the bank last night. If the Caps fly like they did last night, I dont see anyone from Tampa or Vegas beating them... |

Depends which Lightning team shows up. If they play like they did last night the Caps will cruise right into the final. If they play like they did the few games prior, it's going to be a hell of a game. I suspect the latter TBL team shows up. |
