Anyone who has any reservations about Snows role, should be at ease. The fact that he was over sea's scouting while Lamoriello was meeting with JT says it all. I dont agree with Botta that the fans made this happen. Im sure it played a role, but when the entire league was basically doing their best to not laugh at this situation, it was painfully obvious what had to be done. |

I'm not worried at all about Garth when someone like Lou is hired. That Garth billboard had a huge impact. It was the fans and writers like Botta with their blogs helped as well. |

Yet Snow still has a job. I don't want to hear about his contract. It may be long but it's peanuts to the 1/2 shmill they spent on the team. There is no way the cutting him loose would cost more than keeping him around to do nothing. |

What's this talk of a big penalty if he gets fired? Has to be something significant for Garth to not just be fired? |

It's all speculation on Snow's contract. No one knows anything, but the rumor is it's ridiculous which is why he hasn't been fired. I think it's total BS, as do some insiders who've stated the NHL wouldn't approve such contracts. |

They said today that a buyout was ridiculous......some teams have an army of staff on the payroll. Im sure paying Snow to do paperwork is a lot better than having to buy him out at whatever amount Wang gave him to ensure snow got guarenteed money.
In other words, a million a year, is palatable as opposed to having to pay him something crazy like 10 million to walk away. Lets not fall sucker to this Snow still has a job nonsense. He's prob a good worker with respect to the grunt work.....he just never shoulda been in charge of hockey operations, which he no longer will be |

Yeah but that's been going on for 20 some odd years to no avail. I for one think the fans had a large part to do with this. |

There is no doubt in my mind that he's not been fired for whatever clause Wang gave him. It was Wangs way of getting his boy guarenteed money. There's always a way around when lawyers are involved. |

There is no way the buyout is more than the full term of the contract. He may be guaranteed the money, but it is not one cent more if he is canned today than if he was kept on to the end. |

Look at the last press conference and the backlash. That's all the proof you need. |

It wasnt that long ago, matter of fact I think it was when L and M bought the team, that the notion around the league was that Snow was doing a good job. I think I read that somewhere. But, after this past season, it was the first time the league was scratching their heads publicly with regards to Snow. Writers, Hockey Analysts, etc were all wondering the same as us......how does this guy still have a job, and how are the isles not after Lou Lam.
I think it all boils down to ticket sales. They had to do something to improve ticket sales........so yes the fans have something to do with it. I don't believe the billboards (while i love them) had much to do with this. |

Yep. That press conference reaction and the billboard. I said no way Ledecky walks back into the another press conference with no changes. |

Does JT deserve $12 million.
Do you want him on the team at that price? |

And this is where we will disagree. I think Charles Wang hooked his boy up. Like "Hey thanks for letting me suggest we put a Sumo wrestler in net and not walk out. Here's guarenteed money for being a good soldier" |
