I don't see any value with JHS right now. Maybe Nelson, but definitely not JHS. Would love if they can target Markstrom. Vancouver won't re-sign him when his contract ends anyways. - bgainesDM
I disagree. JHS is still young and talented someone will take a flyer on him. Carolina has some d men they can move and they are looking for some offense so there’s a fit there.
I think Markstrom would be a nice fit.

JHS has played to his reputation unfortunately.
I see JHS, Nelson and our draft picks and prospects all on the table to revamp the top 4 dmen and goaltending. - nyisles7
Neither of them is worth much. |

Last thing they need is another unproven goalie - Vukota
Markstrom actually has been pretty decent. Not his fault his team's offense is Boeser and everyone else. |

I'm on the grubauer train although Schneider or Kinkaid would work. Problem is they are division rivals so it's harder to deal. Garth had to see this coming and he poop in his pants as usual. Anyone drinking or doing anything fun today |

He could've played himself back in the NHL if he just got his head and ego out of his A.S.S. - bgainesDM
Well, yeah, shoulda woulda coulda.... It's unfortunate too, because I think about all the times the Isles were trapped in their own end last season (no pun intended), and how a guy like Ho Sang would have been able to help them by skating the puck out of the defensive zone. I still am not sure what he did wrong that wasn't also done by every other guy who tried to skate the puck out, because there was no one to pass it to. Did he turn the puck over? Yes. So did Barzal and others....
At this point, he's probably just trade bait. Might be just a throw in..... |

Barzal shoots the puck, passes it to the right person, and doesn't try to constantly skate through 4 people. He makes the PP transition game better and forces teams to double-team him on the PP.
JHS does the opposite. |

I’m thinking Grubauer is on Lou’s radar. |

Meh, JHS is still young and talented and Nelson is a 20 goal per year player. There’s value there. Both might also excel in a new home. Added to the picks and prospects we have there’s a good amount of assets to go out and get the goalie and dman/men we need. Don’t think JHS and or Nelson are on the team next year. Just my opinion of course.
Edit: I think Carolina has dman they may be willing to move for some offense. Wouldn’t be a bad trade partner. Faulk and Hanifin may be available. |

On JHS, i wouldnt be so quick to give up on the kid or make him just a throw-in on a possible trade, he may have defensive defiencies but so do other nhl players, his offensive skill is nhl worthy and just needs to adapt. |

Late 2 the party!!!! Old news ... - Ur Not Me
No worries.
I wonder if they told Kuli he would not be resigned or once he heard LL hired he knew there was no chance Garth would grossly overpay him again. No hate on him- he was more useful than Grabvoski but a marginal player at best who ate up time on Cappy’s bench, limiting the chance for others in 16-17 season. (barzal?)
Either way...ciao Nikolai...good luck |

Nelson is a RFA. I don't think anyone would give up anything to take a chance on JHS. I was really rooting for the kid. He was exciting to watch.
I think they'll have to give up draft picks to get a goalie.

Down year in minutes, points etc. Slavin and Pesce have become the top shutdown pair. Faulk is a puck mover and runs the PP so he will have value out there. I think he would be a nice fit on the Island and a new home may see him return to his previous form. |

Is Barzal better than Ho Sang? Yes. Could the Islanders use help skating the puck into the offensive zone when Barzal and Leddy aren't on the ice? Yes.
I'd hate to see Ho Sang traded somewhere else for a bag of pucks, and then see him reach his potential and burn the Isles. |

Well we will disagree as far as JHS and Nelson’s worth. But will agree they alone aren’t getting you a starting goalie. That’s gonna take a lot.
Carolina needs offense and Nelson or JHS would be a fit.
I think we will find out sooner rather than later who’s coming and going. |

Definitely needs a change of scenery. The guy was so, so lazy in his own end this year. So lazy. |

You aren't getting one of Faulk or Hanifin for either of those guys.
Remember we've got Martin Necas and Andrei Svechnikov coming into the fold up front next year. |

He’s not getting traded for a bag of pucks. He has skill and is young.
Problem with him is he skates the puck out of the zone, then proceeds to dipsy doodle and turn it over for an opposing teams goal. He will get scratched the next game and make an effort to get better but slowly becomes the same player. His biggest problem is he doesn’t know how to keep his mouth shut!
If you look at him at Bridgeport he was ok. Nothing special and did the same things wrong he was sent down there to work on.
