Number of cups by either team: 0

So far, it's pretty even.

i didnt call him injury prone...he is just getting old for a hockey player
- senstroll

Elite defensemen can still play at a very high level late in their 30's.

I think Weber can do just that.

Its not controversial to say players start to decline at around 28 (production wise) we have decades of data to prove that.

I just wouldnt bet on a deal where the Leafs give up the 22 year old 1st line talent for the 29 year old D working out in their favor overall.

In fact, its exactly what the Leafs have tried over the last 30 years...(frank) that

- senstroll

Wrong again. They did it with guys that were actually old like 35+ plus.

The average player declines. Pietrangelo is significantly above average. His production from 29 to 35 shouldn't be a worrisome decline, if there is one at all.

This is about acquiring a guy who plays a position the Leafs are extremely weak in and giving up a piece that they already have plenty of.

Ok fine!

Well it's not fair, Weber got injured pretty badly last year.

Remove that and both players production is similar.

That depends directly to whether or not the Leafs have him or not.

If they have him, he can be amazing until he's 45.

If they don't, anyone over 30 requires a walker to enter the arena.

Sounds about right.

Except it's a wheelchair, not a walker.

Duchene I would agree. He wants to play with a contender, or at least a team that will make the playoffs regularly. But he's playing well, so the silver lining is that they should get a solid return for him. (No, it wont equal what they gave up).

Stone, I have more optimism for, he's been here longer, although that one year deal is a little disconcerting. But then it's the same process, hope for a solid return at the deadline (which it would be).

In this scenario they just hope they have enough of a cushion to avoid falling down to the wings and rangers.

I think you will for sure. I have no faith in Dorion, but I don't think even he can (frank) it up, though.

Don't use a credit card. I don't think the American gov has records for Debit transactions but Visa/Mastercard/Amex make all their records available to Border Security.
- TheMussel

Pretty much my thoughts exactly.

I will buy at a retail location, show id if I have to, but want to be sure it isn't recorded. Then I will pay cash

I highly suggest the Karman Healthcare S-Ergo Ultra Lightweight Ergonomic Wheelchair.

It's the one Weber uses.

BEST OF THE BEST.

UG last season: Leafs are still 5 years away. Trade UFAs for picks and young players.

UG this season: Trade young players and picks for older players who are soon to be UFAs. Gotta go for it NOW!

Yeah it kind of was and for a wide variety of reasons.

Trading a bunch of picks and prospects for a 35+ year old player at the deadline to add to a team already filled with a bunch of guys who are 30+ is a lot different than having a whole bunch of guys under 25 and trading an extra one for a guy who is (frank)ing 29.

I'm all about staying young, rebuilding from the draft, keeping the picks and prospects but at a certain point, you have to move one or two of them (not the best ones ones) and get help in another area. This isn't an arbitrary move, it's one with a direct purpose; trade a surplus to fill a deficit.

That should last until 2024 when Tavares will lose function of his arms and will need to operate it using eye movements.
